It all started when...

After my career in tech, I decided to look for a way to give back. Through a fortuitous set of events and coincidences I became a board member of the local blood bank where I live, BloodSource. After several years on the BloodSource board we made the strategic decision to merge with a larger, national blood organization, Vitalant. Through that transaction I became a member of the Vitalant board of trustees where I serve today as Chairman of the Board. I am also a frequent blood donor, regularly donating platelets and plasma. While 38% of the US population is eligible to donate blood, only about 3% actually do. So I encourage anyone reading this to get down to your local blood bank and save some lives today!
